my bed is made. seriously. i put it together with my own two hands.

i think the reason why ikea sends their furniture in parts is so that all their customers have the joy of completing an arduous task. then, remebering the euphoria of their success in the future, they buy again. genius, no?

in any case, not much to report. just a lot of being in a new state every other day (ny tonight, ct tomorrow, ny the night after that. . . ). it makes me so sleepy, and long so much for the day when im a full time resident of here. but wait, fear: justin will not be able to move in with me in the time alotted. or, if he does, will want to move out too soon. i cant hack this relying on (and by that, i just mean trusting) other people. it makes me tense. people, historically, do not come through for me.

anyway, i have a license. but you all know that. what you may not know is the level to which the creepy road test dude was hitting on me. his words upon me exiting the car (queue slimy voice) 'from the moment you entered the car i knew this test was over. you passed.' trying to concentrate on the road, do your best at lane changes and the like, while your examiner recounts his divorce for, asks you what your interests are, and if you currently have a boyfriend. . . . very difficult. but, whatever, i didnt even have to wear the low cut shirt for this one.

celebrate!

my mom called her friends to ask if they would all give something to send to james. the only ones who declined: the born again christians who moved to rural georgia.

the first person to respond to me: an atheist.

ha.

happiness is knowing your friends care enough about you to care about the things that mean the most to you. its been a good few hours. and now, the computer finds dashboard on shuffle.

life's not always that bad. i'll sleep better tonight.

while watching tv a commercial for dairy queen comes on:

fade in to girlfriend sobbing. boyfriend arrives to comfort and, as he approaches her, notices her ice blended coffe drink in hand. he inquires and it seems as though, muffin, her cat has died.

gf: muffin was such a good cat. muuuufffffiiiiiin
bf (distracted, trying to sip blended ice drink over her shoulder while they embrace): mmmm, mocha.
gf (sobs): no, muuuuufffffiiiiiiinnn
bf: right. yes. muffin.

this continues. he successfully drinks from her cup. they leave.

this commercial, no different than many other commercials. it fails at being truly funny, but it gets its point across. they product is worth buying. but it fails on a deeper, more disturbing level. . .the product is named MOO-LATTE. AND THE COUPLE IS BLACK!!!!!!

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE MISSED THIS INAPPROPRIATE REFERENCE LET ME SPELL IT OUT. MOO-LATTE IS NOT SO FAR OFF FROM MULATTO!!! SOMEONE OF MIXED HERITAGE!!!! MIXED, SAY, IN A SIMILAR WAY TO THIS ICE BLENDED COFFEE DRINK!?!??!?! YES, I THINK SO!!! AND THE COUPLE THEY CHOOSE. . . BOTH HAVE A MILK-CHOCOLATEY BROWN COMPLEXION!!!!

WHATS NEXT, PEOPLE WHO WANT COFFEE WITHOUT MILK OR SUGAR WILL ORDER "A GRANDE NEGGER". OR PERHAPS, FOR THE SUMMER MONTHS, "A VENTI NEGGER ON ICE."

think about that bitches.

Heterosexuals were the upstarts who turned marriage into a voluntary love relationship rather than a mandatory economic and political institution. Heterosexuals were the ones who made procreation voluntary, so that some couples could choose childlessness, and who adopted assisted reproduction so that even couples who could not conceive could become parents. And heterosexuals subverted the long-standing rule that every marriage had to have a husband who played one role in the family and a wife who played a completely different one. Gays and lesbians simply looked at the revolution heterosexuals had wrought and noticed that with its new norms, marriage could work for them, too.
